Celebrate what you are pointing towards this week.

Dear pastor,

Easter week can be one of the busiest, if not the busiest, weeks of the year. There’s the Easter sermon, which though you know many “experts” say you should treat the same as any other sermon, you know you don’t. And can’t. Then there are the extra messages and services you have this week. For us, it’s Thursday, Friday, and two on Sunday.

And the easiest thing in the world for me to do this week is lose sight of what it is we are celebrating because I’m so busy planning.

But He is risen! Christ was raised, and all our hope lies in this one truth. So this week, don’t lose sight of the real work; pointing your own soul, and the souls of your people, to the glorious, risen Christ. Work faithfully, and trust Him. But above all, let your heart celebrate.
